We are used to slick packaging, advertising, and products-how does the handmade version stand up to comparison? I unskillfully attempt to knit a Nike shoe, using an original Nike as my prototype, linking myself with the sweatshop laborers and home producers that make these shoes and so many other mass-produced products. There's a certain charm in its wooly clumsiness.
